The Medical Receptionist position is responsible for greeting and registering patients, as well as administrative tasks and procedures that support an exceptional patient experience. This role offers the opportunity to see how an urgent care operates and work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare providers. This position is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in health care. This is a fast-paced role that calls for the ability to multitask, think on your feet and work independently. We are looking for someone who is patient focused, empathetic and positive. This role is critical to the entire patient experience. We are looking for someone with availability and flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and some holidays. Responsibilities include being the first and last interaction with patients, greeting patients and acting as a resource, scheduling patients through different modalities, introducing the Carbon app to patients, verifying insurance and collecting copayments, administrative work such as writing referrals and preparing lab paperwork, and working collaboratively on projects with clinical leadership to enhance the patient experience. Requirements include the ability to remain focused and calm during stressful situations, experience and familiarity with medical insurance preferred, computer skills with working knowledge or willingness to learn Google Suite, typing speed of 30+wpm, high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of direct experience as a medical office receptionist in a fast-paced clinic, hospital, or similar healthcare setting or three years of related customer-service experience, multitasking ability, critical time management skills, demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies, and excellent customer service skills.
